Showing Thanks Every Day
We were taught when we were children to say please and thank you. It may seem like a simple lesson to learn, but it’s one that we should carry with us everywhere we go. In business, the power of showing thanks can go a long way – but who should you be thankful for? There are a few groups of people who should always know they are appreciated by you, and this November is the perfect opportunity to start showing your gratitude.
Always show thanks to your employees. You are an entrepreneur. You worked hard to make your dreams come true. Still, you need people to keep that dream afloat – that’s where your employees come in. You don’t have to plan a big company outing for them if you want them to know that they are appreciated. Small things like saying thanks after they’ve done a great job on a project, or treating them to lunch one day can make a difference in their job satisfaction. You may even learn how thankful they are for you as well!
This may seem obvious, but without your clients, you wouldn’t have the necessary funds to even support a staff. Make sure they know you are aware that they help drive your business forward. Offer special discounts on services and products to say thanks to your most loyal clients. Send out cards this holiday season in the mail thanking them for their continued business and support. These are the kinds of actions that will set you apart from the rest.
Finally, always show gratitude to your investors, sponsors, and donors. These are people who believe in you and your mission just as much as you do. Let them know what their contributions are helping you achieve by keeping them updated via email or even an occasional phone call to say, “Thanks again!”
You can never go wrong by expressing gratitude. Remember, you don’t have to wait for Thanksgiving to roll around to tell the people you work with that you are thankful for them. Start incorporating this habit into your everyday life – you’ll make everyone around you that much happier to be working with you.
