4 Questions to Ask Yourself to Achieve Ultimate Success Study Successful People and Do What they Do
In the book The Millionaire Next Door: The Surprising Secrets of America’s Wealthy, Thomas J. Stanley, Ph.D. and William D. Danko, Ph.D. discuss the mountains of research that shows over 80 percent of America’s millionaires are self-made. What does this mean for you? Well, it means that you and I can get to the top if we want to. It becomes much easier to get to the top when you spend your time studying people who made it to the top and the strategies and action steps they took to get them there.
Conversely, if you never take the time to study successful people and ask them for their advice, it becomes nearly impossible to achieve success. I’ve never met a self-made millionaire who is a casino-going-chain-smoking-lottery-ticket-buying boss of business.
If you want to get on the fast track to success, you must ask the person at the top how they got there or you must read their books and watch their interviews to discover what they did to get from point A to point B.
Here are 4 questions to ask yourself to find the ideal mentor for you:
1) Who has achieved the success I want to achieve?
Write down your life goals and research others who have achieved those goals in their career.
2) What books should I read?
Research books that have been written by mentors who have achieved the goals you would like to obtain. Read their books and follow their blog. Do what they did to become successful and learn from their mistakes.
3) What interviews should I watch?
Research interviews where these successful mentors have been featured and watch them all. What can you learn from the path they traveled?
4) What can I do today to begin studying successful people, their methods and their strategies?
Block out time each day to study what successful people do. This may be getting up one hour earlier every day to achieve success. Write down action steps you can apply to your life right now to follow their path.
